There are a few ways to catch this road, 53
miles from Mariposa to Coulterville, CA Highway 49.
We started in Fresno up Hwy 41 North heading towards Yosemite
National Park, make a left on 49 heading North to Mariposa. A
beautiful road winding with a brisk pace.
Past Mariposa is when the real fun begins heading towards
Coulterville. This as twisty as it gets, with phenomenal scenery.
There is a vista point overlooking the beginning the descent to the
river. On a typical weekend day, standing at that vista point, you
will be greated to engine sounds worthy of any track day.
The roads makes its way all the way to the bottom of the valley
passing a bridge over the river and up an equally twisty section up
to Coulterville.
A much needed breakfast at the "claimed" oldest saloon on the West Coast, and then we took the same road back.
